El apartamento era como un largo pasillo oscuro, con circulaciones quebradas que finalizaban en un pequeño salón. Sin sorpresas. El cliente demandaba amplitud, minimalismo y mucha luz natural. El proyecto libera el espacio para dar sensación de mayor tamaño y fluidez. Los recorridos se acortan. Se estrechan puntualmente para abrirse a un gran espacio principal. Recuperamos los antiguos suelos de madera y dejamos vista la estructura (de madera y fundición). El apartamento se reconcilia con su historia. Las zonas húmedas se protegen con material cerámico de color burdeos. Una mancha de vino que se extiende por el suelo. La luz y los contrastes devuelven la sorpresa al espacio.

The apartment was like a long, twisted and dark corridor ending in a small living room. There were no surprises. The owner demanded an open space, minimalistic and full of natural light. The project free up space to get a sensation of a bigger size and fluidity. The corridor is shortened and occasionally narrowed. It opens wide to a now bigger main space. We restored the old wooden floors and the old wrought iron and wood structure. The apartment comes to terms with its own history. The kitchen and the bathroom floors are paved with burgundy-coloured ceramic flooring. Like a wine stain spreading across the floor. A game of contrasts and light that brings the surprises back.
